The product I choose for this assignment is L'oreal.
There are a lot of famous singers and actresses chosen by L'oreal to represent the image of the company, one of them is the singer Beyonce. I think she was chosen because she has a huge fan base among girls and woman in general. She is well known all over the world for her singing career and she projects a healthy image. She is not overly skinny and she is not involved in any public scandals.
I don't think there is any debate between the image L'oreal is projecting and how it is actually perceived by the public. The products are good and offer the quality promised, of course nobody can have the same perfect skin tone or other fisical aspects that the girls in the commercial have but this is not a reason for debate.
My question for those who would like to add a comment is: Would you buy a product only because your favourite movie star, or singer is endorsing it?
Well, I wouldn't, but frankly, we do like what that famous person looks like and maybe, even if it's not stated, we think/hope that if we use the same product we will look the same :-)
